The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin is one of the architectural pearls of Ukraine built in XVIII century. Despite the fact that during Soviet times this beautiful baroque cathedral was serving as stables, prison and then a warehouse, its wooden iconostasis miraculously survived the turmoil. It is believed to be a project of the famous court architect B. Rastrelli, the author of Mariyinsky Palace and Saint Andrew's Church in Kyiv.
