Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a bio-diverse mountainous area in Southwestern Uganda, Kanungu district. It is 512km from Kampala city centre. It has one of the richest ecosystems in Uganda. Don’t forget to pack your camera as it has many of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, 200 different species of trees, 120 species of frogs, 220 species of butterflies, 348 species of birds. This park is most famous for the gorillas. Don’t miss the chance to see these cousins of mankind up-close in their natural habitat.

Itinerary

Day 1: Gorilla trekking Bwindi

Stop At: Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a bio-diverse mountainous area in Southwestern Uganda, Kanungu district. It is 512 km from Kampala city centre. It has one of the richest ecosystems in Uganda. Don’t forget to pack your camera as it has many of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, 200 different species of trees, 120 species of frogs, 220 species of butterflies, 348 species of birds. This park is most famous for the gorillas. Don’t miss the chance to see these cousins of mankind up-close in their natural habitat.

You shall be picked from the Hotel by our driver after you have eaten your breakfast. You shall travel to Masaka where you shall stop by the Equator to take some memorable photos and eat some snacks. You shall then continue your journey and visit the Igongo cultural village to see the Ankole museum in Mbarara. You shall then have lunch at Agip Motel then head to Bwindi. You shall check in at your hotel / lodge, have dinner and relax to energise for the following day’s safari.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking Bwindi

Stop At: Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda
After you finish your breakfast, you shall be picked by our driver at around 6.30 am. You shall then embark on the gorilla trek. A porter shall be availed to you to carry your luggage in the event that you wish so. Please take note that you have to be physically fit and over 15 years of age to go gorilla trekking. It may take you upto 6 hours to sight the gorillas. If you are lucky, you may see them as soon as you enter the forest. When you see the gorillas, please maintain a distance of 7 metres. Visitors are allowed only one hour with the gorillas. In essence, its one hour per gorilla group per day.

Day 3: End of the Tour

Stop At: Uganda Equator, Masaka Road, Kayabwe Uganda
Visitors will stop by the equator and take pictures.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Igongo Cultural Centre, 16 Km Mbarara-Masaka Road, Mbarara Uganda
This is a cultural centre showcasing Ankole culture. You shall be able to learn about the customs and culture of the Ankole people of western Uganda. You may also buy some souvenirs for yourself.
