Fishing Live Aboard Cruise to the Surin Islands

Some 200 km north west of Phuket (and 50 km off the west coast of Phang-Nga province) lie the Surin islands consisting of five jungle cropped granite islands and their fringing coral reefs which offer excellent diving and snorkeling. They are famous for their gorgeous, diverse and prolific shallow-water corals, and are popular with live-aboard diving tours. The coral colonies surrounding the islands are the most well developed and beautiful in Thailand and slope relatively gently to the seabed thus providing excellent snorkeling.

These islands are perfect both for serious anglers as well as casual anglers and family groups looking to combine fishing with some swimming and snorkeling in a stunning location. We do offer only private charter service meaning that the boat will be only for you during those days while the price is per boat/per group for a 4 days/3 nights trip.

As far as our live aboard trips to the Surin Islands are concerned port of departure is usually Tapla Mu two hours drive from Phuket Island and close to the holiday destination of Kao Lak. 

Every year from October till April we organize live aboard fishing safari over there where you are going to sleep on board our vessel and fish around the clock if you wish!

The fishing here happens exclusively outside the boundaries of the National Marine Park while the area  is well a known "hot spot" for Wahoo, Dorado, Tuna and from time to time Black Marlin.

It's worth a try also the area west of the Surin Islands which often produces multiple hook ups on Sailfish.

Our live aboard trips' tariff includes the following:
- local taxes and insurance, transfer from/to the hotel (if in the area of Phuket or Khao Lak otherwise an additional charge will apply), all meals (our meals are normally a blend of western/Thai but if you have any dietary preferences or allergies please advise us), soft drinks and bottled water, coffee&tea, snacks, tropical fruit, baits&lures, the use of first class fishing gear and the assistance of our professional crew.

During our live aboard trips we can do trolling with lures or dead baits (tuna belly or ballyhoo) for Sailfish and Black Marlin or for a variety of tuna rather than Wahoo, Dorado and King Mackarel, bottom fishing for a variety of bottom dwellers such as Grouper and Jacks, jigging and popping for GT, Amberjack and a variety of other species of Trevallys.

Please note that during our trips our customers if they like will have the opportunity as well to cruise among beautiful islands, relax on white sandy beach and do some snorkeling if they wish.
