Tarragona Ruins and Priorat (3 Days)

Incredible Tour, starting with Terragona, heritage made of monuments, visit the Balcony of the Mediterranean, we will know the Roman Circus of Tarragona, Plaça de la Font, Pretorio, Plaça del Rei and National Archaeological Museum, followed by the Cathedral of Tarragona, to experience an Archaeological Walk and a walk through the Portal of San Antonio.

The second day we will explore the Ebro Delta, a swimming experience with the Mediterranean bluefin tuna, the activities to be carried out will be in L'Ametlla de Mar aboard a Catamaran, then lunch in Puerto de Riumar, followed by a taste of delicious food in Sant Carles de la Ràpita, take a walk on the boats and sailboats, we will learn about traditional fishing in MónNatura and end with a bird watching in Mirador de La Tancada

The third day we will start it in the fields of Gratallops Vineyards, we will continue towards La Figuera, the best viewpoint of the Priorat, visit Cabaces, we will finish in Ciurana.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Tarragona

We will arrive in the city of Tarragona to take a walking tour of the most emblematic places of this beautiful city that uniquely mixes the past and the present.

We will make a tour from the bottom up of the city, so that we can ascend through the old town until we finish at the Plaza del Rei, where we can enjoy a gastronomic feast.

Our starting point for the visit to Tarragona will be the final part of the Rambla Nova avenue

Stop At: Mediterranean Balcony, 43003 Tarragona Spain
a viewpoint with a fabulous view of the Tarragona Amphitheater and the Miracle beach.

Now we will enter the historic center of Tarragona. We will cross the Via Augusta, to reach the Roman Circus of Tarragona, built in the first century

We will now go to La Plaça de la Font, a long square that was previously the arena of the Circus.

Stop At: Torre del Pretori - Museu d'Història de Tarragona, Plaça del Rei, s/n, 43003 Tarragona, Spain
Next, we will visit the Praetorium and we can see the model of the medieval city, as well as travel the 90 meters of vaults that supported the stands of the circus.

Tarragona old town. The terraces in this square offer a unique gastronomic experience. We will stop for lunch.

Located in the ruins of a huge Roman temple, this construction begun in the 12th century was consecrated until two centuries later, and reveals an interesting transition of styles between the Roman and the Gothic.

Stop At: Iglesia de San Antonio Abad (El Silencio), Calle Alfonso XII 3, 41001 Seville Spain
We will finish our tour in El Portal de San Antonio, the largest of the gates of the wall of Tarragona that is still preserved.

Day 2: Ebro Delta

Stop At: L'Ametlla de Mar Turisme, Avinguda Amistat Hispano Italiana, S/N, 43860 L'Ametlla de Mar Spain
Our first activity in L’Ametlla de Mar, is aboard a catamaran that will take us to an unforgettable experience: swimming with bluefin tuna. The catamaran tour starts at 10h.

Returning from our adventure on the water we return to land and head towards the Port of Riumar

Stop At: Sant Carles de la Rapita, 43530 Alcanar, Tarragona, Spain
Visit to the port of Sant Carles de la Ràpita, to taste the delicious typical food of the Ebro Delta: oysters and mussels. Boats and sailboats leave from this port where we can take a walk and get to know the nacras: a kind of giant mussel (approximately 60 cm)

The interpretation center of the Delta del Ebro, and where we will learn about traditional fishing with net and salt flats.

Stop At: Mirador de la Tancada, Camí de Baladres, 43870 Amposta, Tarragona, Spain
Bird watching, where we can observe flamingos and egrets.
Duration: 1 hour

Day 3: Day 3: Priorat

Stop At: Clos Figueras, Carrer de la Font, 38, 43737 Gratallops Spain
Where we will find the most spectacular vineyard fields in all of Catalonia. It is the region of origin of Priorat wine. The visit to one of the local wine cellars is a must. In the vineyard where we stay we will have the full experience of wine tasting and visit of the sown ones.

Stop At: La Figuera, 17251, Girona, Spain
It is the best viewpoint of the Priorat, and from which you can see the Pyrenees, the Sierra dels Ports, the Segre River, the Maestrazgo de Castellón and the lands of Aragón. Near there we can visit the Hermitage of San Pau,

Stop At: Cartoixa d'Escaladei, Rambla de la Cartoixa, s/n, 43379 Escaladei, Tarragona, Spain
First Carthusian monastery that was installed in the Iberian Peninsula. We can visit its archaeological remains.

Stop At: Priorat de Santa Maria, 08283 Castellfollit de Riubregós, Barcelona, Spain
We deviate a little to enter Poboleda, where we will visit the Priorat Cathedral or Church of San Pedro, in a neoclassical style and appreciate the views of the Monsant.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Cartoixa d'Escaladei, Rambla de la Cartoixa, s/n, 43379 Escaladei, Tarragona, Spain
We leave Ciurana and advance to the Priory, on the route we will find the Cartuja de Escaladei, which is the first Carthusian monastery that was installed in the Iberian Peninsula. We can visit its archaeological remains.
