From Djoudj National Birds Reserve to Saloum Islands

This eight days tour is unique in the sense ,its has three world heritage sites: Goree island ,Saint-Louis, and Djoudj National Birds Reserve. More with this tour ,you will have an entire immersion in local cultures ,visiting a serer and Peul village .You will have two boat rides and you will also explore one of the country's biggest fishing harbour :MBour ,with 1500 fishing boats. You will also tour Saint-Louis on horse carriage to explore the first French in West Africa,which dates back 1659 and will have came riding in the desert ,enjoying a beautiful sunset .More I am going to teach and to show you many things.For instance ,when visiting a serer ,you will be given the possibly to do some activities and also to sing and dance with them.More ,I will show you ,the Peul tribe ,a very ancient tribe ,which according to some anthropologists are related to ancient Egypt.There ,you will see ,this people ,which to their features ,looks more like The Tuaregs and the Masaï.

Day 1: arrival at Blaise Diagne Intl airport and transfer to :Hotel Chez Salim at the Pink Lake

Day 2 : hotel Chez Salim-- visit of Dakar and Goree island ---hotel Chez Salim

Exploration of Dakar to visit the ancient capital city of French west African colonies .you will the independence square, the presidential mansion, the independence square ,the big cathedral, the obelisk square, Soweto square, the divinity mosque, before ending the monument of the African Renaissance. Then,we will the ferry for Gorée island ,where we have an appointment with the history of mankind. Upon arrival ,we will visit the slaves house and here you will see the famous "gate of no return" and then we will around the island to see :the 1830 French church, the former French governor residence, the ancient French fortifications. In short ,all the world heritage. Lunch on the island..Exploration of the pink Lake to see the salt seekers,all the activities around but also the pink colour of the lake due to some seaweeds.Overnight at Chez Salim hotel

Day 3 :Chez Salim hotel --- Bandia Animals Reserve ---- Lompoul Desert

Upon arrival ,we take 4WD ,to tour the reserve., looking for 10 species of animals in 3500 hectares.With the services of a ranger ,we will see the rhinoceros, the giraffes, the zebras,the derby and cap elands,the impalas,the buffaloes, the horse antelope,the warthogs, the grand kudu,the green and red monkeys ,the hyaenas .Before handing the crocodiles pool ,we will have a cultural part, exploring the baobab cemetery.Lunch in Thiès and continuation to Lompoul. Arrival at Lompoul village a 4WD will take us to the desert.There ,you will enjoy the beauty of the orange Sand dunes ,the sunset and have camel ride.After or before diner an African ballet will perform around the fire.Diner and overnight in Lompoul in some Mauritanian tents.

Day 4:Lompoul Desert --- Saint-Louis

We leave for Saint-Louis the first French city in West Africa ,which dates back 1659.Upon arrival we will tour the city on horse carriage exploring the heritage ,because Saint-Louis is classified world heritage.Thus we will the former French governor's residence ,the emblematic Faidherbe bridge which was first built in 1897,the former French trading houses ,Faidherbe square ,in short all the island before going to discover the fish folks borough.There ,we will see the real Africa,discovering their fishing harbour and neighborhood. Lunch in an Senegalese restaurant, where you can eat local.Diner and overnight at Cap Saint-Louis hotel or Mermoz hotel

Day 5 :Saint -Louis---Djoudj National Birds Reserve

Early departure ,to discover the 3th largest reserve of birds in the world .Upon arrival,we will have of boat ride to go to see the pelicans in their nursery. 350 species of have been recorded here.More ,here you can see something like 20000 whites pelicans.When having a boat ride, you can see:the white pelicans, the African and Eurasian spoonbills, the yellow billed stork ,the white stork ,the lesser and greater flamingoes, the black crown night heron,the pied kingfisher, the black tern,the African jacana,the African fish eagle,the osprey,the malakite kingfisher and so on .Lunch in Saint-Louis. The afternoon ,you are free.Diner and overnight in Cap Saint-Louis hotel or Mermoz hotel.

Day 6 : Saint-Louis ---Touba ---Saloum islands

Departure to visit Touba's big mosque ,which is the biggest one in West Africa.Stop to explore a Fula village. The Fula are cattle breeders, the are very similar to the Masaï and Touaregs and lead a very rural and traditional life .Lunch in Thies and continuation to Saloum .Diner and Overnight at Simal Ecolodge or" Ecolodge de Palmarin

Day 7:Boat ride or Fishing party on the river Saloum and the after we go to Saly .Stop MBour 's colourful central market its finishing harbour.Overnight and Diner at NDaali hotel or MBaïla hotel

Day 8 : Transfer to airport and end of services
