Gorillas Uganda and Rwanda

This safari will provide you with the amazing experience of visiting and having a face to face interaction with the great Apes; The Mountain Gorillas of Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a world heritage site in Western Uganda. It is most notable for half of the world's population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas and this will be the highlight of our safari. Surely this safari will bring everlasting memories; Visit the historical dark site of Rwanda the genocide museum and later sharing with the underprivileged children in an orphanage home. On top of this, enjoy culture and beautiful scenery as you traverse the country side. Welcome to Uganda-Rwanda!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and overnight

Stop At: Kigali, Kigali, Kigali Province
You will be received by our guide at the Kigali Airport who will then transfer you to your hotel in the heart of Kigali city we a comfortable serene. Basing on your time of arrival, you will have an option of touring the Kigali city most importantly the Genocide Museum that has the history of the dark moments of Rwanda.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP

Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Buhoma, Uganda
Gorilla trekking - Today after early breakfast, your guide will pick you up at time arranged, and basing on your previous arrival, you may take on a city tour of Kigali to the historical sites importantly the Genocide Museum and thereafter, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest your base for the Gorilla trekking through a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’. You will see beautiful terrace hills and you will drive through a bamboo forest zone. On a clear day, you will have great views of the Virunga Mountains

Day 3: GORILLA TREKKING

Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Buhoma, Uganda
Gorilla Tracking
Today after early breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla tracking. You will encounter one of Bwindi’s endangered mountain gorillas. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda.
Bwindi Impenetrable national park boasts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees - the only forest in Africa that can make this claim. It also hosts five other species of primates, 113 species of mammals, over 200 species of butterflies and 360 species of birds. The gorillas you track are habituated and can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period of time, every day.
The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience.

Day 4: Bwidi to Kampala

Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Western Region
Drive from Bwindi Forest to Kampala Entebbe
After morning breakfast, drive to Kampala through the rolling hills of kabale on to the farmlands in the Ankole the land of Milk. Stopover is made at the Equator for epic photographs and arrive in Kampala in the evening.

Day 5: Visit Orphanage Home and Departure

Stop At: Kampala, Kampala, Central Region
A day with the orphans and departure
After breakfast at the Guest house, you will drive SANYU BABIES HOME to spend time with the babies volunteering with feeding and caring for the unprevilaged kids. Later you will be transfered to the Airport for your flight back home.
