If you are in Moscow but want to visit rural traditional Russia, that is the perfect tour of your choice. The famous Golden Ring towns of Sergiev Posad, Vladimir and Suzdal with surrounding villages can be visited on a day private drive from Moscow by car with an experienced driver. We will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning in order to start your drive to Sergiev Posad (1 hr) and then to Vladimir, Suzdal (2-3 hrs). The drive back is to start at around 6 p.m. and you are to be back in Moscow at 9-10 p.m., depending on the traffic. On the way back we will also ensure that you head back to your hotel just in time to have some late evening cocktails!

Stop At: The Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNKh), Mira Ave., 119, Moscow 129223 Russia

We pick you up at your Hotel in the morning to start the drive towards Sergiev Posad (1 hr) and further on to Vladimir and Suzdal (another 2-3 hrs). You are picked up in a comfortable car with AC (up to 6 seats). Please mind that the driver is NOT a tour guide but undrestands basic English, can stop and take photos at request.

Stop At: The Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, Sergiev Posad mkr, Sergiyev Posad 141300 Russia

In about one hour you get to Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius - the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual centre of the Russian Orthodox Church. The monastery is situated in the town of Sergiyev Posad, about 70 km to the north-east from Moscow. If you want, you can visit the Monastery from inside (individual visitors' fee around 500 rubles, free of charge during the religious ceremonies).

Pass By: Vladimir Suzdal Museum Reserve, 43, Bolshaya Moskovskaya St, Vladimir 600000 Russia

In about 2 hours you get to Vladimir - the main city of the region and also gateway to Vladimir and Suzdal museum reserve. The driver will first drop you at the Golden Gate entrance into the historic part of the city.

This UNESCO heritage site used to be the ancient gate of the town and nowadays hosts a museum to commemorate the Mongol invasion of Russia that took place in XIII century. You can visit the museum from inside on individual basis (300 rubles per person)

Stop At: Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street, Bolshaya Moskovskaya St., Vladimir Russia

You walk down along the oldest and main street of Vladimir - Boshaya Moskovskaya with its shops, old mansions and trade rows in order to get to the most beautiful cathedrals of the city

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Holy Assumption Cathedral, ul. Bolshaya Moskovskaya 56/Sobornaya, Sq. 1, Vladimir 600000 Russia

Being the major landmark of Vladimir, Assumption Cathedral used to be the main cathedral of the Princedom and venue of coronation of Princes, hosting the iconic paintings by the great Andrei Rublev and Daniil Chyorny. Available for visitors (free entry in the morning during the religious service and 250 rubles per person otherwise)

Stop At: Cathedral of Saint Demetrius, Bolshaya Moskovskaya St, 60, Vladimir 600000 Russia

St Demetrius Cathedral of Vladimir was built in 1194–1197 as a private chapel of Vsevolod the Big Nest and represents a unique international project of Russian and Byzantine masters, Friedrich Barbarossa's masons, and Georgian carvers. It is another UNESCO World Heritage site in the city

Pass By: Svyato-Bogolyubsky monastery, Lenina, 51, V/4, Bogolyubovo 601270 Russia

It was built between 1158 and 1165 by the order of Andrey Bogolyubsky at the mouth of the Nerl River (where it flows into the Klyazma River). Russian Orthodox Christians believe that Bogolyubovo was founded on the spot where Bogolyubsky saw a miraculous vision of the Theotokos, who commanded him to build a church and a monastery on this spot.

Stop At: Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, Vokzalnaya, 10, Bogolyubovo 601270 Russia

The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin on the Nerl River is an Orthodox church and a symbol of medieval Russia. Built by Prince Andrei Bogolyubskiy in XII century, it was built in white stone. You can enjoy fascinating scenery with a large field, 2 rivers and the beautiful church in front of you. Please mind that there is no road to the church, so that you need to take a stroll of around 25 minutes (2 km). You can visit the church from inside on individual basis (200 rubles per person)

Stop At: Suzdal Kremlin, Ul. Kremlevskaja, d. 20, Suzdal 601293 Russia

Although it does not look like its Moscow rival, the local Kremlin is also included into UNESCO list of World heritage and still has a lot of fascinating sights of interest. The white limestone buildings of the local Kremlin may also give you an idea what Moscow Kremlin looked like some 7 centuries ago. You can visit Kremlin from inside (except for Monday) for 350 rubles per person.

Stop At: Spaso-Evfimiyev Monastery Museum Complex, Lenina St., 146, Suzdal 601293 Russia

The monastery included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites hosts one of the largest museum complexes of the town and a tomb of Dmitriy Pozharskiy – the leader of Russian popular uprising against the Polish invaders in early XVII century. The monastery in very nice from the outside and has a big museum inside (400 rubles per person)

Stop At: Museum Of Wooden Architecture & Peasant Life, ul. Pushkarskaja, Suzdal Russia

The complex has a number of traditional Russian wooden bulidings including housing, chucrches and water mills. You will have a complete impression of what traditional rural Russia looked like a few centuries ago. Visiting it is available on individual basis (400 rubles per person).

Stop At: Church of Saints Boris and Gleb in Kideksha, d. Kideksha, Suzdal Russia

The church builts in 1152 is one of the oldest ones, also a part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site "White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal". Built in white limestone it makes a part of the amaing rural scenery around it.

Pass By: Vladimir Suzdal Museum Reserve, 43, Bolshaya Moskovskaya St, Vladimir 600000 Russia

At about 5:30 - 6 p.m. you get out of Vladimir to start your drive back to Moscow (3-4 hrs depending on the traffic). You can request stops on your route.

Pass By: Red Square, Moscow 109012 Russia
