Strategically built on the north bank of the river Tagus, between 1514 and 1520, to defend the bar of Lisbon, it is one of the jewels of the architecture of the reign of King Manuel I.

The Monument to the Discoveries was built in 1960 to celebrate the death of Infante D. Henrique, promoter of the Maritime Discoveries. The monument, made of limestone, has the shape of a caravel covered by 33 figures of Portuguese history, including Infante himself, Vasco da Gama and Luís de CamÔes.

This basilica, whose dome on Estrela hill is one of Lisbon's trademarks, was built in the eighteenth century to fulfill the promise of Queen Maria I if it had a descendant.

The Palåcio de São Bento is a neoclassical palace located in Lisbon and has been the seat of the Parliament of Portugal since 1834. The place could not be more traditional: opened at the end of the 19th century, Mercado da Ribeira was the main market of Lisbon until 2000. Today is a space of restaurants contemplated by its gastronomic critics with 4 or 5 stars. Today the Ribeira Market / Time Out Market is always full - a place to visit for lunch during your visit to Lisbon.
