This trip plan has been specially prepared for you to have the best time in Cusco and Puno. This experience features stunning landscapes, cathedrals and churches filled with history, impressive archaeological sites left by pre-Inka cultures and the Inka Empire, and much more! These six days guarantee to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we are sure it will create remarkable memories that will stay with you forever.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Cusco! City tour

Stop At: City Tour Cusco, Portal de Panes 123, Cusco 08002, Peru
Welcome to Cusco! At your arrival at the airport, we will pick you up and drive you to your hotel. You will have a couple of hours to acclimatize to the altitude of the Andes!

Afterwards, we will pick you up and head to the beautiful Main Square, where we will start the tour with the visit to the stunning Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun.

Later, we will go to visit four amazing ruins surrounding the city. We will start with Sacsaywaman, the size and weight of the stones are unbelievable! Then, we will also visit Q'enqo, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara.

Finally, we will drive you back to the city center so you can explore this vibrant city at night and try one if its popular restaurants!

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Inkas

Stop At: Sacred Valley of the Incas, 0051 Peru
After a great breakfast in your hotel, we will pick you up to start our tour and drive along scenic roads to the Sacred Valley. Our first stop will be Pisac Market, a colorful typical market full of beautiful souvenirs and hanmade handicrafts. Then, we will go into Pisac ruins, one of the largest groups of terraces and the only cemetery with over 5,000 niches!

After this walk, we will go to Urubamba for lunch, you will try several dishes in this buffet featuring our delicious Peruvian food. Finally, we will visit Ollantaytambo, an old Inca fortified village where we will observe some of the best examples of Inca architecture in the region. Surviving structures here include multiple walls and towers that were used to protect the citadel from possible invasions.

Day 3: Machu Picchu Citadel Excursion

Stop At: Machu Picchu, 08680, Peru
After an early rise, you will board the train from the Ollantaytambo Station heading to Aguas Calientes. This train journey is a spectacle in itself! You will be able to appreciate the Peru’s immense biodiversity, as you witness the landscape transition from Andean green fields to lush rainforest, descending along the Urubamba River.

Upon arrival to the Aguas Calientes train station, you will take a 20 minute bus ride up to the spectacular site of Machu Picchu. You will explore this enigmatic sanctuary where your expert guide will lead you through the ruins, providing archaeological and historical information on key areas of interest. You will appreciate the most amazing views from the top of this citadel! This is an opportunity to revel in the energy and atmosphere of one of the most significant and spectacular archaeological sites of the world, set high in the cloud forest.

You will also have the opportunity to see Llamas walking around in their natural environment.

After descending to Aguas Calientes, you will have some free time for lunch, and wander through this picturesque town. In the afternoon, you will board the return train to the Ollantaytambo Station, where one of our representatives will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 4: Maras & Moray

Stop At: Salinas de Maras, Carreta a Maras, Maras 08655 Peru
Start the day with a buffet breakfast! Today, you will explore Maras & Moray. En route, you will have one of the best panoramic views of the valley. First, we will stop at the ancient salt mines, near the town of Maras, then, the huge circular agricultural terraces at Moray built by the Incas in natural sinkholes on a plateau overlooking the Urubamba Valley.

After the tour, we will head back to Cusco City Center and you will have a free evening to see some museums and explore more of this beautiful city!

Day 5: From Cusco to Puno: The Sun Route

Stop At: San Pedro Apostol de Andahuaylillas, Calle Tacna No 302, Andahuaylillas 08210 Peru
Today we will embark on the most scenic trip of the Peruvian Andes!

On board a comfortable bus, we will pass different Andean villages, snow capped mountains, and herds of Llamas. Some of our stops include: Andahuaylillas, also known as the Sistine Chapel of America; Racchi, ruins of a well known Inca Temple to the God Wiracocha and La Raya Pass, which is the highest point of the Peruvian Altiplano. We will have lunch at a traditional Andean restaurant before we arrive to Puno, the city of Lake Titicaca.

• Lunch: We will make a stop on the way to Puno to have a tasty buffet lunch.

Day 6: Lake Titicaca: Uros Floating Islands & Taquile

Stop At: Lake Titicaca, Puno 21000 Peru
Today we will explore the world’s highest navigable lake, Titcaca, and explore its unique and breathtaking islands.

We start by visiting the floating Islands of Uros. There are around 40 small islands made totally of totora, a natural reed that grows around the lake. The friendly island inhabitants will invite you to get to know their traditional lifestyle and customs.

Continuing our journey across the waters of the lake, we will arrive to Taquile Island, a quaint and picturesque place with a unique landscape due to the Incan terraces built around it. Here we will be able to learn ancestral weaving techniques from the locals! We will have lunch in Taquile before heading back to our hotel.

Later, we will pick you up and drive you to the airport to catch your flight to your next destination!
