With this tour it is planned to visit the most important monuments in Podgorica. Start point is Independence Square from where we continue to Clock tower and Starodoganjskoj dzamiji (Mosque).Along narrow streets of Old town,which hide rich cultural – historical Ottoman heritage we will reach the remains of medieval Ribnica fortress, and to the place where the Ribnica river runs into Morača river.After that we will walk to the statue of King Nikola,as well as to Puškin and Natalia, which are situated in front of the Gallery of the town where art lovers can see the actual exhibition.With this almost all old town’s stories have been told and we continue along Njegoš’ park and The national theatre,to the modern symbol of Podgorica Millennium bridge.After that we will see Cultural information center Budo Tomović and passing the main town stadium reach the recreational center of Podgorica-Gorica hill.On Gorica we will visit St. George’s church,old more than 900 years.

Clock Tower is located at Bećir Beg Osmanagić square, in the Stara Varoš neighborhood. It is one of the very few Ottoman landmarks that survived the bombing of Podgorica in World War II.

Clock Tower was built in 1667, by Hadži-paša Osmanagić, a prominent citizen of Podgorica. It is a freestanding 19m tall stone clock tower. Its current turret clock mechanism was made in 1890 by Pietro Colbachini foundry in Bassano del Grappa, Italy.

The mosque which is located in the old part of Podgorica, was built at the end of XVIII centrury. The year of the construction is unknown because the mosque itself does not have that inscription, but what is more important is that during its existence it served as a place of gathering of local people who renewed it several times. Today it is protected by the state.

It was founded in 1953, in the beginning as a city theatre, under the name Titograd National Theatre. The initial idea was to constitute a strong theatre that would meet all requirements and assumptions of a national theatre, and it was only in 1969 that it was given the name of the National theatre, although it had been working until then with all the attributes of the national theatre.
