Stop At: Tehuacalco Archaeological Ancient Ruins, Cerro del Capulin S/N, Tierra Colorada 39087 Mexico

We visit the most important religious and government city of the Yope Civilization, It peaked between 650 and 1100 A. D. in the central mountains of the state of Guerrero. At the site, with a local guide we learn all about their emperors, culture, gods, trading, and laws. The tour begins examining first the artefacts and petroglyphs housed in the small museum. Then, we walk through the Templo del Espejo de Agua, the Mesoamerican ball court, where a crucial game wa held each year, the Encinera or main templo used for various rituals performed by priests and rulers, the Palace, the largest structure of the site, residences for the elite with internal patios and drain age systems, the solar group form by the Templo Verde, Templo Rojo and La Anona. After the Tehuacalco Ruins Tour, we take our lunch at a restaurant atop a hill and enjoy a delicious organic lunch and the view of the countryside.
