A fascinating blend of Portuguese, Dutch and British influences have made Malacca one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malaysia. We will visit Portuguese Square also referred to as 'Mini Lisbon' followed by A Famosa, a tiny gate is what is left of a once mighty Portuguese fortress are major attraction not to be missed. It is the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Asia. Its rich historical background earned it a "World Heritage Site" designation in July 2008.

A Famosa is a former Portuguese fortress located in Malacca, Malaysia. It is among the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Southeast Asia and the Far East. The Porta de Santiago, a small gate house, is the only part of the fortress which still remains today

Dutch Square Malacca is the most picturesque along Jalan Kota. It's also a colourfull trishaw pickup point, it is distinguished by a group of bright, terracotta-red colonial Dutch buildings, built between 1660 and 1700, with louvered windows and chunky doors with wrought iron hinges. A central fountain dominates the area: it is an ornate Victorian marble addition, erected in 1904 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. One of the oldest surviving parts of Malacca, Dutch Square’s most prominent building is the Stadthuys. Presiding over the entire south side of Dutch Square it was completed in 1660 and is said to be the oldest-existing Dutch building in the East

Stop At: Jonker Street, Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka Malaysia

Jalan Hang Jebat, or Jonker Walk is it commonly known, is a street in historical Chinatown of Melaka starting just across the river from the Dutch Square. Jonker Walk is flanked on both sides of the road with heritage houses dating back up to the 17th century. At that time, rich Baba Nonyas (also known as Perankans, descendents of 15th - 16th century Chinese immigrants marrying local Malay women) lived and did their business here.Today, the street houses many shops selling antiques, textiles, handicrafts and souvenirs (similar to what you can find at Central Market in Kuala Lumpur). On the weekends, starting Friday night at 6pm, the road is closed off for traffic and turns in a very crowded night market. The famous Chicken Rice Ball dish can also be found here, just opposite the start of Jonker Walk near the bridge.
