As one of Japan's foremost fishing harbours with the largest catch of fresh tuna and plenty of top quality sushi restaurants, Shiogama is a true foodie heaven! The town has a strong cultural connection with Japanese sake, home to three nationally famous breweries that produce the sacred sake for historic Shiogama Shrine. This foodie tour is all about experiencing the local food and culture of Shiogama through the spirit of Japanese sake. The tour includes both an English lecture on sake appreciation and a delicious sushi lunch!

10:00 Meet at Hon-Shiogama Station (JR Senseki Line)

10:10 Start of tour

10:30 Walking tour of town area around Shiogama Shrine. Visit/pray at shrine.

11:20 Sake appreciation lecture (40 minutes / 12:00)
