Visit to the Roman Brescia archaeological park

In the heart of Brescia the monumental remains of ancient Brixia are still preserved, which allow you to retrace the long history of the city. The area, abandoned in the late antiquity, was brought to light in the early nineteenth century thanks to an excavation campaign financed by the citizens themselves and can now be admired in its monumental splendor also thanks to the use of the most modern technologies.
The Roman Brescia Archaeological Park - made up of the Republican Sanctuary (1st century BC), the Capitolium (73 AD) and the Roman Theater (1st-3rd century AD) - has been registered since 2011 in the Heritage List promoted by UNESCO in the serial site "The Lombards in Italy. The places of power (568 - 774 AD)", going to constitute one of the most significant and best preserved archaeological routes in Italy.
