Surrounded by medieval walls and dominated by an imposing castle, Montalcino is a magnificent village south of Siena in southern Tuscany. The town, which has maintained its integrity since the 16th century, is located a few kilometers from Pienza in the southernmost part of the magnificent Val d'Orcia, among sinuous hills. Patria del Brunello, is one of the most famous villages in Italy for the production of wine.
