Florence and Pisa Shore Excursions from Livorno

The tour starts from the port where your cruise ship arrives. A quick ride to Pisa and just behind the ancient city walls we will have the chance to see the leaning tower so famous worldwide, but remember: other buildings are in the Miracle square such as the Baptistery, the Duomo and the Camposanto.

From Pisa we drive for 75 min to Florence, and the first stop (or last stop, depending on the time and traffic) will be at Piazzale Michelangelo: there the beauty and the grandeur of the Duomo, Giotto's Belltower, Santa Croce Church, the political palace named Palazzo della Signoria will be displayed to your eyes. In town I will be your tour guide and together we will visit the Accademy museum with skip the line tickets, where the Statue of David and others called the "Prisoners" by Michelangelo are housed, and then the rest of the city. After free time for lunch or gelato or shopping, we meet to go to drive back to your cruise ship.

When your cruise ship will dock, I will be there with my new Mercedes van, accommodating up to 7 people. The first stop (depending on the traffic) is Pisa, where I can drive you by the famous Leaning Tower. After 40/45 min I will come to pick you up and off we go to Florence, where I will drive first and then I will give you, after parking my van, a walking tour of the city. Florence is considered the cradle of Renaissance, with the Duomo, the Baptistery and other monuments showing the great wealthy the city had already in 1200. The De Medici family made later Florence well know and influential in the political area of Europe and great artists such as Donatello, Brunelleschi, Michelangelo were involved in its increasing importance.

We will visit together the Accademia Museum (except on Monday when it is closed, and we can visit instead Museum of the Duomo), with skip the line tickets (not included, that you can pay directly at the ticket booth of the Museum, 16,50€ per adult over 18yo, and 4€ per younger people). The statues sculpted by Michelangelo are David, one of his Pietà and the Captives or Prisoners. Then some free time for lunch and shopping and for tasting the great gelato produced here.

On our way back by van, we will stop at Piazzale Michelangelo, where you will admire the beautiful view of the city. The ride back is usually 1,30hrs, so you may enjoy the nice Countryside from the window or just relax. I will drop you off by your cruise ship, exactly where I picked you up in the morning.
