If you want to discover and learn more about history, legends, local traditions and gastronomy of the Gargano National Park you cannot miss this experience! We'll enjoy to visit the old town with its narrow street, lovely corners and legends, then we'll going to the 86-steps staircase to experience the spirituality of the holy cave, the only cave blessed by the Archangel Michael. The best conclusion will be learn more about local food and cheeses, in a local cheese factory you'll try to make your own cheese and mozzarella braid, and after that a great wine and fresh cheese tasting in two of best places in town!

Itinerary

We'll start our guided tour in front of the Sanctuary of Michael the Archangel (UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011) after visiting the holy cave where the Saint appeared in the V Century we'll explore hidden gems of the old town "Junno" made of wonderful narrow streets, vibrant squares, churches and lovely spots from where you'll have an amazing view over the ancient town and on the coast. Then we'll get to a family run cheese factory where to learn how the famous Mozzarella and Caciocavallo cheese are prepared.
Having the opportunity to experience firsthand the traditional method of mozzarella cheese making, you'll be provided with gloves and aprons to make your own braided cheese and mozzarella knots!
After so much work, we'll taste those fresh cheeses and some excellent local wines in a typical wine shop: a great selection from the Puglia's five main wine districts, strongly anchored to typical grapes that characterize the productions...Cheers!
