3-Hour Sacro Monte of Varese Small-Group Tour

Meet your group and local guide at the First Chapel then ascend the mountain to see the 14 Chapels representing Jesus's life. Your guide will share the history of each chapel as you travel for 1.5-hours along a 2 km (approximately 1 mile) cobblestone path. At the top of the mountain, the group will visit the permanent Presepe followed by the Sanctuary which is a little gem of baroque art. The guide will show the group the wooden statue of the Black Madonna (30 min). After the Sanctuary, spend about 30 minutes visiting the little village of Santa Maria del Monte where it is possible to see mural paintings and stunning views from the windows of typical underpasses. There will be a brief rest stop at the Emporio Shop, where visitors can sample local products and do some shopping. The bus will wait for the group at the parking lot, located a few minutes walk from the Sanctuary.
