Countryside: Hungarian Puszta Tour (Full-Day Private Tour)

The full day excursion to the Hungarian Puszta starts with a light sightseeing tour in the baroque city of Kecskemét,where you can walk around the beautiful downtown and visit the historic squares and buildings, see the famous City Hall and theater, and take a guided walking tour through some of the stunning churches.

Then the tour continues in the Puszta. The guests are welcomed with cheesecake and pálinka (traditional Hungarian spirit/ schnapps). You can enjoy a cart-tour to the nearby Puszta where you can visit a small functioning farm. The main attraction is the horse show with the "Puszta ten" performance (10 horses galloping with a herdsman on their back) and the rush of the grooms. After the show you can ride a horse if you want.

The windup of the programme is a traditional three-course lunch accompanied by live gipsy music: Hungarian Goulash, breaded chicken breast filet with roast pork chuck and salad, lastly milk-pie with apricot-jam.

Kecskemét is a city in the central part of Hungary. It is the eighth-largest city in the country and the county seat of Bács-Kiskun.

Kecskemét, lies halfway between the capital Budapest and the country's third-largest city, Szeged, 86 kilometres (53 miles) from both of them and almost equal distance from the two big rivers of the country, the Danube and the Tisa. It is the northern of two centers of the Hungarian Southern Great Plain (Hungarian: Del-Alföld) region (comprising the three counties Bács-Kiskun, Békés and Csongrád); the southern center is Szeged, the seat of Csongrád county.

Cifrapalota (also known as Ornamented Palace) is a unique piece of architecture, known as the masterpiece of Art Nouveau with its wonderful ”waving” walls, shining roof tiles and ceramic ornaments of plants and animals. It hosts the Kecskemét Art Gallery today.

The City Hall of Kecskemét is a city hall building located in the Kossuth Square (town square), of Kecskemét.

The current building was built between 1893 and 1897 in the Art Nouveau style. It was designed by Ödön Lechner and Gyula Pártos.

The Co-Cathedral of the Ascension of the Lord (also called Kecskemét Cathedral or the Great Church) is a religious building affiliated with the Catholic Church located in the city of Kecskemét, serves as the Co-Cathedral or alternate cathedral of the Archdiocese of Kalocsa-Kecskemét. It is dedicated to the Ascension of Christ.

The church was built between 1774 and 1806 in the Baroque style and remains the largest church in the Pannonian Plain. The original design corresponds to Gáspár Osvald, but the construction management was entrusted to Balthasar Fischer. Already in 1819 the tower of the church burned down, and had to be renewed until 1863 then receiving its current form.
