It is surrounded by other mountains such as Sincholagua, Pasochoa, Rumiñahui, all within the avenue of volcanoes. With its wonderful symmetrical shape, it is an excellence stratovolcano, translated from Quichua into Spanish as the neck of the moon.

Stop At: Cotopaxi National Park, Ecuador

Arrival to the southern entrance of the Cotopaxi National Park.
• Visit to Interpretacion Center Mariscal.
• Arrive to parking Area.
• Explanation about volcano /animals/ plants/etc.
• Start hiking to Jose Rivas Refugee (4800m).
• After a short rest, hikes till the glaciers (5000m).

Stop At: Cotopaxi National Park, Ecuador

After the hiking from the Refugio Padre Rivas, We take the Bikes down per approximately 11 km, it is optional to bike to the south Entance of the National park Cotopaxi, in total 22 km of bikes.
