How do you fancy a day on your own private Mediterranean island? The island of Supetar is waiting for you. This picturesque Dubrovnik island, which from the air reassembles an atoll, is located in the Bay of Župa, a short boat ride from either the Old City of Dubrovnik or the coastal town of Cavtat. In fact, this tiny private island is one of the most southern in the whole of Croatia, a country with over a 1,000 islands dotted along its Adriatic coast. By boat from the heart of Dubrovnik it is only a 30-minute journey, and from the nearby Mlini, Plat and Cavtat even closer.

The island is under the private concession of the Adriana company and we’ll take you to the island so you can stay as long as your heart desires. What can you do on a tiny green spot in the middle of a turquoise sea? You’d be surprised! Even though Supetar is relatively small it has a wealth of options, or you could just take a good book and relax under the shade of a tree for the afternoon. In the crystal, clear waters surrounding the island there is in fact a secret. Around 1,500 amphorae, dating from the 3rd and 4th centuries, are hidden in the sea and we can organise a diving trip so that you can experience Dubrovnik’s rich and diverse history up close and personal. There is even a shipwreck site in the near vicinity.

Of course without the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik you might want to just find your spot in the sun, or on one of the many natural beaches, and lose yourself in your own thoughts. And don’t forget your camera. Believe it or not you’ll have views all the way back to Dubrovnik but also over the whole Bay of Župa and the soaring mountains behind the picturesque coastal town of Cavtat.

And from refreshments you have the rather ingeniously named “Robinson Club” which offers a barbecue and drinks. Order lunch with a nice glass of wine and find your spot in the sun as you eat in the middle of the Adriatic. However of you are feeling a little more active there is also a football pitch and basketball court on the island, a great way to burn off those calories after lunch.
