Colombian Caribbean Coast 8 Day Tour

Have you been dreaming about waves crashing while playing in the sand? Maybe you’re lacking vitamin sea? Life can be a beach sometimes so we all need trips like these!

Our adventure begins in the sunny and colorful, colonial city of Cartagena! Explore the fortress and get your tan on with some well earned beach time. After we wander the history rich streets, we’ll chase the sun rays into Taganga where the forest meets the Caribbean sea! Hike through the rain forest with a local indigenous tribe and get sun kissed on the beaches of Costeño before heading out to Tayrona National Park where we can explore the lush forests and swim with the colorful fish that inhabit the surrounding waters.

Your journey wraps up in the coastal town of Santa Marta so remember to pack your swimsuit and sunscreen, it’s beach time!

Itinerary

Day 1: Introduction

Pass By: Cartagena, Cartagena, Cartagena District, Bolivar Department
The Lifes a Beach tour takes off by meeting the group jumping into the sizzling, colorful streets of Cartagena! This old colonial town is a great introduction to the Caribbean side of Colombia, with plenty to see and do. Later that night we will be heading out for a night on the town.

Day 2: Day trip to Azul Beach

Pass By: Cartagena, Cartagena, Cartagena District, Bolivar Department
Have your swimsuits packed for the stunning Playa Azul and Cholon islands, get your cameras ready to capture the beauty of the Cartagena Caribbean Coast!

Day 3: Cartagena to Taganga

Pass By: Taganga, Taganga, Santa Marta District, Magdalena Department
As we leave the historic Cartagena streets behind, we will make our way to the fishing village of Taganga, one of Colombia’s hidden gems! We’ll relax poolside, explore the village and all of it’s local shops and restaurants.

Day 4: Trip down the jungle river

Pass By: Don Diego, Don Diego, Antioquia Department
Venture into the surrounding rainforest, meet a tribe, check out the local museum before tubing down the Don Diego river into the mouth of the Caribbean!

Day 5: Off to Costeno Beach

Pass By: Costeno Beach, Santa Marta Colombia
Off to another immaculate beach town, Costeño! Dive into a number of beach activities in this backpacker’s paradise whether you prefer volleyball, surfing or practicing headstands on the Caribbean sand,Costeño will steal your heart.

Day 6: Tayrona national park

Pass By: Tayrona National Park, Tayrona National Park, Santa Marta District, Magdalena Department
Today we venture into the ultra-lush Tayrona National Park. Be sure to pack the sunscreen, bug repellent, hiking shoes and sandals for a hike through the forest. We’ll gaze upon howler monkeys, indigenous birds and sloths just overhead! After a good days trek, we’ll cool down in the clear waters of Cabo San Juan, one of the most beautiful beaches in Colombia!

Day 7: Santa Marta

Pass By: Santa Marta, Santa Marta, Santa Marta District, Magdalena Department
Today we head to our last stop, the city of Santa Marta for a day of relaxation and exploring what the city has to offer! Catch a few more rays at the beach, scope out the local museums or venture about the city. After we return from our last leg of adventure we will celebrate our Colombian experience with one last group dinner, drinks and night out!

Day 8: Time to day Goodbye

This morning we say see you soon to our new friends as our tour comes to a close. If you haven’t seen enough of Colombia, why not stay and see more of this country while you’re here? We recommend booking flights later in the evening for this day or booking an extra night to allow plenty of time to relax, pack and catch your flight. We can assist with booking post tour accommodation and transportation if need be.
