One-Day Tour: Classic Chongqing

Chongqing used to be a provisional capital of China and the largest municipality in southwestern region. It is built in the mountains and partially surrounded by Yangtze and Jialing rivers gaining the reputation of "mountain city" and "city of rivers". The night scene of the city is very illuminated with millions of lights and their reflections on the rivers. Mountains, rivers, forests, springs, waterfalls, gorges, and caves make up unique topography of Chongqing. Today, Chongqing Urban style features a combination of new Skyscrapers and old architectural complex. In this tour, you will travel in this mountainous city and visit classic attractions including Eling Park and Ciqikou Ancient Town as well as tasting spicy Chongqing hot pot.

Stop At: People's Assembly Hall, No.173 Renming Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing 400015 China

At 8:00am, your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby, ferry station, or airport to embark on a day of sightseeing trip in beautiful Chongqing City. As the 4th largest city in China, Chongqing is mostly known for Yangtze River cruises. However, this is not what Chongqing is all about.
Your first stop of this tour will be People’s Hall of Chongqing, a landmark architecture completed in 1954 to memorize China's resistance war and establishment of new government. It is also one of the top 10 classic architectures in 20th century Asia.

Stop At: Stilwell Museum/Former Residence of General Stilwell (Shidiwei Jiangjun Jiuju), Jialing Xin Cun 63, Chongqing China

Then, you will visit Chongqing Stilwell Museum - The Flying Tiger Memorial, which was once used as an important lodging place by the KMT government to accommodate VIPs during the war against Fascism.
After the museum visit, your guide will take you to taste authentic Chongqing Hot Pot (steam bowel) which is well known and popular in China. You will challenge this hot and spicy dish for lunch to appreciate its popularity.

Stop At: Ciqikou (Porcelain Port), 14 km W of Chongqing, Chongqing 400030 China

In the afternoon, you will visit Ciqikou old town. Ciqikou received its name from making of Chinaware in ancient time. It is also a good place to explore local folklore.

Stop At: E'ling Park, No.176 Eling Centre Street, Yuzhong District, Chongqing 400014 China

Your last stop in Chongqing will be the Eling Park, the highest scenic location where you could enjoy aerial views of the whole city.
Later, you will be escorted back to your hotel where this tour concludes.
