The Bauer Tower has been - for more than a century - the tallest building in the city of Vicuña, in the Elqui Valley. Located in front of the Plaza de Armas, it is a characteristic symbol of Vicuña, built of Oregon pine wood, covered with Alamo, on a metal frame. Designed and made in the German town of Ulm in 1904, commissioned by the then Mayor Adolfo Bauer Kallahardt.
