Dragalevtsi Monastery of the Holy Mother of God of Vitosha, Dragalevski manastir „Sveta Bogoroditsa Vitoshka“) is a Bulgarian Orthodox monastery on the lower slopes of Vitosha mountain on the outskirts of the capital Sofia in western Bulgaria. Founded in the mid-14th century by Bulgarian tsar Ivan Alexander, the monastery was abandoned after the Ottoman conquest of Sofia and reestablished in the late 15th century, when it became an important literary centre. The monastery church and some of its frescoes date from this period.

The Lozen Monastery of St. Spas in the village of Lozen is a Bulgarian monastery built during the Second Bulgarian Empire. It is the easternmost monastery from the spectacular 13th-century monastery complex Mala Sveta Gora. The monastery is called “Sveti Spas” (Holy Saviour) after the day of The Ascension of Jesus (Spasovden) (there is no saint with the name of Spas).

The Kremikovtsi Monastery of Saint George is a Bulgarian Orthodox monastery near Kremikovtsi to the northeast of the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Founded during the Second Bulgarian Empire (12th–14th century) and re-established in 1493 by a local Bulgarian noble, the monastery includes two churches. Of these, the older medieval church is notable for its highly regarded 15th-century frescoes.

Obradovski monastery "Saint Mina" is one of the most visited holy sites near Sofia. It is 2 km away from Sofia's quarter ​​Benkovski on the banks of the Vladayska River. After 1989, the monastery became popular with thousands of worshipers, who came for the miraculous icon of St. Minas in the temple. The saint is a strong advocate and quick assistant for every godly request. A period of massive construction began in the holy cloister - a whole complex of buildings and chapels grew up. Among them is the new domed temple, painted with Byzantine-style frescoes and dedicated to St. Nicholas.
