Home of the Bulgarian Rose and the Thracian Kings - Private Day tour

There’s a place in Bulgaria where the greatest Thracian tombs, the secrets of rose-picking, and the production of the world renown Bulgarian rose oil all meet! There, the wonderful smell of the roses is bringing the memories of ancient cultures and great rulers who used to live on those lands and left their legacy until nowadays.

If you are still wondering, this place is the meeting point of the Thracian’s kings valley and the Rose Valley near the city of Kazanlak!

Together, we’ll embark on a journey during which we’ll get to know the history of rose production in the region while visiting a unique and still working rose oil distillery. There we’ll be able to try some of the products made of rose oil!

After that, we’ll visit the Thracian tomb in Kazanlak, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, and later the Golyama Kosmatka mound which is considered to be the tomb of the famous Thracian ruler Seuthes III.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Plovdiv Old Town, Plovdiv 4000 Bulgaria

The tour starts at 07:30 am when our tripvam representative will pick you up from your hotel.

We depart for Kazanlak and after 1-hour ride we’ll arrive at the unique rose distillery.

Next, guided tour at the place, rose oil products degustation and rose-picking (optional). After this, we leave for Kazanlak city where we’ll be able to visit the only Rose Museum in the world which is telling the 350 years history of Bulgarian rose production (optional)

There, nearby is also the Kazanlak Thracian tomb which is part of UNESCO.

After lunch in a local restaurant, we’ll visit Golyama Kosmatka – the tomb of Thracian ruler Seuthes III.

We’ll also visit the emblematic Memorial Temple of the Birth of Christ – one of the most beautiful temple buildings in Bulgaria. It was built in the style of Czech churches of the 19th century and is dedicated to the memory of the people who lost their lives during the 1877 fights for Bulgarian independence.

We depart for Plovdiv around 3:30 pm and are expected to arrive there at 5:30 pm.
