14 Day Exclusive Tour Through Time and Culture in Armenia

Overview

Travel through history and beauty of an ancient land during this 14-day guided tour in Armenia, designed on one hand to journey, on the other hand not to rush and be able to enjoy the trip at its best. Discover and enjoy this fantastic country together with your personal tour guide!

You'll visit Amberd fortress, then drive to Lake Qari on the altitude of 3090 metres above sea level. Then, late in the evening after dinner, you'll visit Byurakan Observatory for stargazing with the real telescopes. On the second day of your trip you'll visit the impressive Dashtadem fortress and then continue your journey through Shirak region to Gyumri with overnight stay.

The next day you'll head for Lori, one of the most picturesque regions of Armenia, also known for its significant historical monuments. You'll visit famous Akhtala fortress and UNESCO heritage monastic complex of Haghpat. You'll stay overnight in Haghpat.

You'll continue to discover the treasures of Lori and enjoy grandiose landscape and continue your way to Dilijan.

On your 6th day, you will head for Lake Seva, visit Noratus, a unique place with about 900 khachqars, travel along the legendary Silk Road through splendid Vardenyats Pass on 2410 metres above sea level, stop at the medieval Caravanserai and stay in Yeghegis overnight. On day 7 you'll discover Areni, wine region of Armenia, visit Noravank, the magnificent Gnishik Gorge, world's oldest winery  and of course will taste some of the best wine in the world. Then you'll travel to Syunik province to visit Hin Khndzorek, a cave village and pass the swinging iron bridge. You'll stay in Goris overnight.

On day 8, is the day to fly on the wings of Tatev, the longest reversible aerial tramway and visit splendid Tatev monastery. On that very day, after lunch, you'll visit a prehistoric observatory of Qarahunj, one of the oldest such constructions in the world. Then you'll travel to Sisian to stay overnight. 

You'll have an off-road trip to another prehistoric monument- petroglyphs of Ukhtasar. They are situated at the altitude of about 3200 metres above sea level. Sometimes this site may be inaccessible due to weather conditions and high altitude. You'll be back to Sisian for lunch and continue your way to Yerevan. You'll stay in Yerevan all following nights until the day of your departure.

On day 10 you will be welcomed in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. You'll have a city-tour with Erebuni fortress, the birthplace of Yerevan (8th century BC), museums and famous sites of the city. You'll visit Zvartnots, 7th-century temple, Holy Ejmiatzin and another fantastic archaeological site and museum with civilizational significance, Metzamor.  The following days you'll visit  Garni, a famous pagan temple of the Sun, rock-carved Geghard, the Matenadaran, the biggest repository of ancient manuscripts food market and legendary Ararat Cognac museum with degustation, Megeryan Carpet to have farewell dinner in the most authentic atmosphere of Armenian rugs.

The last day of the trip. Depending on the time of your flight we'll manage this day the optimal way for your comfort. We'll transfer you to the airport and will hug you good-bye and begin missing you already.
