The Spyware's BehaviorThe spyware Broadcastpc is an adware program that downloads movie and advertisement clips onto your computer at predetermined intervals. The spyware tracks your Internet browsing habits so that it can target a particular audience.The clips and advertisements can be displayed whether you are online or offline. The advertisements are pre-downloaded prior to the scheduled playback time. The spyware files can be detected as adware under the file name(s) Broadcastpc. The adware component must be manually installed and can be downloaded from broadcastpc.tv/index.php. Other programs also install the spyware application. File names: Bpc.exe Broadcastpc's adware includes a spyware program that tracks Internet usage habits. It downloads various movie clips and advertisements on a predetermined schedule. These clips will play even if the system is offline. When Spyware 'Broadcastpc' is installed, it does the following:Creates the following folder and files.C:\Program Files\RVP Bpc.exe Uninst.exe Creates the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RVP The values within this key include the reporting URL and GUID (spyware's tracking ID), and the location to which the adware clips can be downloaded. Adds the value: "RVP"="C:\Program Files\RVP\bpc.exe" to the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft \Windows\CurrentVerion\Run *Try to uninstall BPC using your PC's Add/Remove Programs utility. *Make sure you run a full system spyware scan and delete all the spyware files detected as Adware under the file name(s) Broadcastpc. Then delete the spyware value that was added to the registry. Uninstalling the SpywareDo one of the following:On the Windows 98 taskbar: Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, double-click Add/Remove Programs. On the Windows Me taskbar: Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, double-click Add/Remove Programs. If you do not see the Add/Remove Programs icon, click "...view all Control Panel options." On the Windows 2000 taskbar: By default, Windows 2000 is set up the same as Windows 98. In that case, follow the Windows 98 instructions. Otherwise, click Start, point to Settings, point to Control Panel, and then click Add/Remove Programs. On the Windows XP taskbar: Click Start > Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, double-click Add or Remove Programs. Click BPC Uninstall. Click Add/Remove, Change/Remove, or Remove (this varies with the operating system). Follow the prompts. Scanning for and Deleting the Spyware filesRun your free Spyware Scanner and make sure that it is configured to scan all files.Run a full system spyware scan. If any files are detected as spyware infected with the Adware Broadcastpc, click Delete. Deleting the Spyware Values from the RegistryClick Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.)Type regedit Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.) Navigate to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Windows\CurrentVersion\Run In the right pane, delete the value: "RVP"="C:\Program Files\RVP\bpc.exe" Exit the Registry Editor.
